College Fairs

In-person college fairs and virtual college fairs are valuable opportunities for students to "shop" for a variety of schools and gather information. The Office of Admissions receives hundreds of college fair invitations each year and cannot possibly send staff to cover all of them.

You will be trained to cover college fairs on your own, armed with great resources and answers to the most commonly asked questions. You may also be called upon to assist an admissions counselor at a particularly busy fair.

Contact Campaigns

Calling, emailing and writing letters provide personalized contact with top prospective students and applicants.

• Calling: Participate in highly specialized contact with prospective students who have demonstrated a certain level of interest.
• Emailing: Email correspondence opens a line of communication through which students can ask questions over a period of time.
• Writing Letters: Depending on the needs of the office, letter-writing will be in the form of a handwritten note or a personalized form letter sent to a group of students.

Receptions

Receptions are informational recruitment gatherings usually held in a hotel meeting room. The size of the reception varies by location-we have held sessions for 15 to 500 people. Presentations consist of an information session, an occasional guest speaker (faculty member or administrator), PowerPoint presentation, and question and answer session. Your role is to assist with registration and speak with students and families. You will not be required to give a speech unless you have coordinated efforts with the admissions staff member planning the event.
 

Host Regional Gatherings

Regional gatherings, hosted at your home, will bring together prospective students from a specified geographic area. For example, a holiday party may be held during winter break to encourage students from your area to consider Trinity. Depending on the nature of the program, prospective parents, current students, and alumni may also be invited

Hosting may require a little more time and effort than other recruitment activities: party planning, buying food/supplies (for which you'll be reimbursed), etc. We hope to have an admissions representative at each regional gathering.

Diversity Recruitment

Trinity University prides itself on seeking to enroll a diverse class of bright, energetic, and engaged students that will take advantage of our expert faculty, beautiful campus, first-rate resources and opportunities, and a community focused on the educational experience. Within each aforementioned volunteer opportunity, you will have the opportunity to engage with students who you identify with in order to build a stronger support system for historically underrepresented students.

Virtual Recruitment

In an effort to connect more students to the Trinity community, you will have the opportunity to engage with prospective students and their families in a virtual landscape. This might involve serving on a virtual panel, attending a virtual regional round table discussion, or conducting a virtual coffee chat with students and their families who share something in common with you (regionally based, career interest, first generation college student, etc.).
